Allure… Tall… Light… And Armed

by DarkJade

“La Fon Stands Atop The Great Peaks Overlooking The Caspian Sea… His Short Black Hair, And Long Black Cape, Both Swaying To The Ocean’s Wind… He’d Been Away From His Love For Weeks Now… “She Must Be Feeling So Desperate Right Now… But No Less Desperate Than Me… Perhaps I should Throw Myself Down Upon The Rocks Below… And Let The Great Sea Crush Me… If Only That Was Possible… No, My Immortal Bones Would Simply Force Me To Lay Back And Feel The Pain… With No End In Sight… No… I Must Return To Her…”

A HOTEL IN A NORTHERN TOWN

8:47pm

Arram sets down her Mother’s Novel, and looks deeply in to a perfectly clear glass of water sitting on the end table by her bed.

Meanwhile Seth is watching some really bad T.V., but breaks away and looks over at Arram.

“How long do you figure we’ll stay here Arram…” he says, but she does not wake from her trance… Not yet.

She looks deeper and deeper into the water… Its stillness… Its… Pureness.

“Arram?” Seth repeats, this time sitting up.

Arram looks at him in a snap, her eyes glaring right through him.

“I don’t know… How long do you think that Huge Dude is going to sit out on that Garbage Bin, in the Rain…” she speaks as her left hand points towards the draped window.

HOTEL PARKING LOT

Ray Millon, the Large Barbarian of a Man that they had met earlier that day… At the site of the “Beheaded” Government Agent’s Body… Sits atop a giant garbage bin in the parking lot, sharpening an enormous hunting knife… While the pouring rain strikes, and reflects off his muscular chest, which is barely covered by his torn up, white tank top.

Every now and again, he glances in the direction of Arram and Seth’s Hotel Room, and then goes back to “Over” Sharpening his Knife.

“I’m going to sleep” Arram says, almost snapping at Seth.

“Ok…” Seth replies, and goes back to watching terrible T.V.

THE NEXT MORNING

9:12am

Arram and Seth, their things packed, exit the Hotel Room.

They both notice right off that The Man is no longer on the garbage bin.

“Warm up the car” she tosses Seth the keys to her Mustang “I’ll go settle the bill…”.

“Will do” Seth replies, and gets into the drivers side.

Arram enters the Front Office of the Hotel, only to see Roy Millon, the man from the garbage bin, sitting at an extremely small table, eating a very Pink Doughnut. He’s once again wearing his huge animal fur made coat, Shotguns strapped onto his back.

She tries to avoid his glance, but is too late, he sees her come in, and stands.

She approaches the Front Desk, whilst tying her Bright Blue Hair into a Ponytail.

“I already covered your room…” she hears the man’s deep, barreling voice come from behind her.

She turns slowly around to face him, her face only reaching the middle of his chest.

She taps his chest “Listen…” tap “I” tap “Don’t” tap “Know” tap “Who” tap “You–” this time he grabs her hand.

“I don’t care if you are a Teenager, that’s as annoying as hell” he gives her back her hand, and starts to leave the office.

“You need me girl… You and your friend are both goina die…” he states as he exits the office, without looking back at her.

She looks at the glass door which closed behind him… Zoning in on the Clearness of the Glass…

“So Pure… So Simple… So Free.”

A Lovely Review of My Poetry Book From My Friend Heloise @PureNrgy

“Winter, Lust, And Wonder”

ENGLISH Posts, Livres / Books / Movies

by PureNrgy

I know some of you understand or even speak English and also I know some of you, English speakers, read me in the background, so this post is for you ;-) « Winter, Lust, And Wonder » is a beautiful book of poems written by James Mahoney who is not only a talented writer but also a fellow blogger and a dear friend of mine. Now, James has written many stories and shared so many more thoughts on his different blogs (like his multi-writers blog The Dark Globe) but this is first self-published book and if you’re passionate about words as I am, I’d love for you to check it out.

What can you expect?

« Winter, Lust, And Wonder » is a small book, very easy to read, it’s poems and thoughts, simple but oh beautifully written. The kind of book that inspires you! The style and the words invite to see trough the writer’s eyes. Sometimes it’s magical, sometimes down to earth, and if you read in the « space » between the words, you get the depth of the message. I enjoyed especially A Grip on the Darkness, I Walk Through Thee, Utopia, Moon, and felt very touched by « ~Japan – Compassion~ »… James Mahoney is all about Truth and you can feel it trough his words. It’s refreshing!
I expected a number of poems to be almost identical but their words, like in most books, but here, instead the style changes, the tone, the ideas, … A very surprising and beautiful discovery.

As I wrote on Amazon: « I’m sure the author would do great in a novel or a fiction book, looking forward to more! » And guess what? He does! I started reading his story « Allure » and it’s amazing, I just love it and if you love fiction (especially Vampires) you will love this one too. But shush… that is another story, for another time… ;-)

Now place to « Winter, Lust, And Wonder » which you can buy on Amazon.com either in the Kindle format for just 1.99$ or in a special black version paperback for just 5$. (For France/Belgium: 1.56€ at Amazon.fr: direct link to Winter, Lust, And Wonder )

And please make sure you leave a review afterwards on Amazon, it’s always nice for the Author to hear what his readers thought of his writing :-) I know I do!

Thank You!

Héloïse

Chess With Agatha (Chapter XXIV) – Stone Cold

Chess With Agatha…

And The Dark Fortress of Doom

A Novel by DarkJade

CHAPTER XXIV – Stone Cold

THE KINGDOM OF NORAWYN

IN THE NORTH LANDS

KING ETERR’S CASTLE

THRONE ROOM

Jodan tucks himself behind a pillar, fearing that what has entered the chamber… Is a Gorgon.

“You Shall Not Escape Me… Lycanthrope” the Gorgon hisses as she slithers across the Throne Room, some forty or so feet from the pillar that Jodan is hiding behind.

Jodan’s eyes glow fiercely red as he tries to control the beast that he is from merely throwing himself in front of her, in what would be a “useless” charge…

Just then…

“Great Heavens… May the Gods protect us” the voice of one of the Dark Fortress of Dooms Knights suddenly rings through the chamber, as the Seven of them enter the chamber.

“NOOOO!!!” Jodan lets out a blood curdling Roar in their direction, just as the Gorgan looks to the First Knight.

Suddenly The Knight’s Arms begin to tingle, and turn cold…

“COVER YOUR EYES YOU FOOLS!!” Jodan yalps at the rest of them, and they quickly raise their shields…

But for the first… It is too late… First his arms, and then his feet and legs begin to turn to stone…

“AHHH!! HELP ME!!” he yells as this dark magic works its way up his chest, and soon envelopes his head and face, the expression left on his face being one of terror.

This brings a smile across the Gorgon’s Face, and she continues to slither across the Throne Room.

The remaining Six Knights quickly get behind pillars, and await Jodan’s orders.

Just then a grey cloud begins to fill the back of the Throne Room, and ooze its way behind the Gorgon.

Jodan senses a shift in the room, and peaks around the other side of the pillar, catching sight of the cloud.

“Rarrr” he growls slightly to himself.

A HALL WAY

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!!” comes the sound of Sir Elm’s Armor as he runs down the never ending hallway…

WHISP! WHISP! WHISP!!” as arrows whisp by, and near him, striking the walls as he goes.

“I can’t just keep running forever” he thinks to himself, and suddenly stops, and turns to face the Undead Archers.

Their eyes glowing an eerie Green Yellow…

“AHHHHHRRRSSSHHH” the strange sound that they make as they continue to let loose their poisoned arrows, Elm doing his best to knock them out of the air with his sword… He is not fast enough, but suddenly Agatha comes out of nowhere and knocks Elm through one of the side doors with a…

CRASHHH!!!” they slide into the room.

Agatha on top of him, her blue eyes glowing, she smiles slightly…

“Stay here” she says, and then flies backwards in a sudden leap landing back in the hallway.

“AHHHHHRSSHHHHHH!!” the Archers screech, as they prepare to let loose a swarm of arrows at Agatha…

But she is too quick, and just as they release their bows, she begins to spin at an unfathomable speed… Creating a sudden burst of wind, stopping the arrows in their tracks…

The arrows than turn around, and launch back at the Archers, striking them all over their bodies…

“AHHHHHHHRRRSSSSS!!!” they hiss as parts of their Undead bodies are removed from them with the striking of the arrows…

Their Undead limbs unable to sustain the impact.

The poison, of course, has no effect… But several of them loose chunks of their legs, and are unable to walk…

Thus pulling their selves along the floor with their upper limbs, with daggers in their mouths.
