THE MIND CHRONICLES – VOLUME NINE
Onset;
FAIRBANKS, ALASKA – DECEMBER, THE YEAR 2075
ABRAHAM BENDO TOWER
Two Days after the arrival of Jarod Black, Mercenary… And Farahi, Humanitarian.
DAY 39 – THE MIND COMPU-JOURNAL
The M.C.R. 1 is complete, and I have successfully integrated the Caraboon Weapon into it. All that’s left is the Test Drive.
“ENTER” Click.
Farahi has spent the last two days, basically alone… As The Mind has been working on his “Mysterious” Project, and Jarod has yet to awaken.
Farahi enters The Mind’s Living Room, only to find him there, staring out the large window… Watching the storm.
“I’m afraid the two of you will be stranded here for a bit while this storm makes it’s way through…” with this he turns to face Farahi who looks a bit uncomfortable.
“Oh… That’s okay… I want to thank you for taking care of Jarod… And for the clothing… And Food” she replies.
The Mind steps over to his Kitchen “Care for a water… Or something sweet to drink?” he inquires.
“Oh… Sure… Water’s fine” she replies graciously.
The Mind hands her a bottle of water.
“Now if you’ll excuse me, much work… Much work…” The Mind then leaves the room.
THE NEXT DAY
MEDICAL ROOM
Jarod wakes to Farahi who is holding his hand.
“How are you feeling?” she asks.
“Better than the last time I can recall being conscious… How long have I been out?” he inquires.
“About two days now…” she replies.
“Wow…” Jarod seems stunned by this.
“How about you? How are you doing” he asks.
“Oh, I”m good… The Mind has been a very polite host, clothes, food etc.”… “But he hasn’t really been around all that much… He’s always working on some kind of project…” she replies.
“I see…” Jarod sits up holding his head, which still hurts a bit.
“We’re having one hell of a storm out there” she tells.
Jarod stands up slowly, and puts on the clothing left for him… Whilst Farahi turns away, so as not to embarrass him.
The two of them go into The Mind’s Living Room where The Mind is sitting, legs crossed, in a chair.
“Glad to see you’re feeling better… The two of you should be able to leave in the next few days…” he explains almost jovially.
Jarod looks at Farahi, and then The Mind.
“You haven’t asked why we’re here?” Jarod quesions.
“Nor shall I…” The Mind speaks as he heads out of the room and is gone.
Jarod turns to Farahi “You haven’t spoken to him about–” he starts to say, but Farahi interrupts him.
“Nothing… I’ve hardly been in the same room with him more than 30 seconds at any given time…” she interjects.
Jarod approaches the great living room window, and watches the storm “Well than… These next few days should be quite interesting…” he says.
THE MIND’S WORKSHOP
In the dark two Red Lights, almost taking on the appearance of eyes, light up some 35 feet up…. As the room has a very high ceiling. And from the dark, a giant, amazing looking robot steps forward into the light.
Inside the robot, is The Mind.
“Alright… Lets see what this baby can do” with this The Mind opens up a large metal door out into the storm beyond, and the robot steps forward disappearing into it.
NEXT TIME… DID SOMEONE SAY… “MUTANT SEASON?”

lol, it could get ugly/bloody… That line is actually inspired by “Wabbit Season”, from the old Bugs Bunny Cartoons, lol Maybe you knew that.
Thanks for the Comment Anna
