CHAPTER XXXXVII – Session 9, Farewell Ren

And with the battle ended, Session 8 came to an end.

It was interesting to see how losing so many Hunter settlers seemed to upset the group.

“See all of you next week,” spoke Johnny, and we gathered our backpacks etc., and left.

Session 9 came quickly it seemed…

It was hard to believe a week had passed.

It’s funny how much of the game is based on instinct, and tonight would demonstrate just how much so.

We ate, and began.

As the bodies of the 11 Human Hunters were being buried, a Barbarian Scout from Drudgek arrived.

“Bad night…” he spoke, but none replied.

“I’ve come for a report from Lieutenant Faren,” spoke the Scout.

Faren stepped forward.

“Tell Prince Noria, I am no longer a Barbarian of Drudgek…” he spoke.

“This will not end well for you,” spoke the Scout, who turned around, and road off.

Zahn patted Faren’s back, and continued burying the bodies.

The next day was day 21 since the beginning of Zahn’s Journey, the third week, and so Zahn gave Ren, Kinner, Stigus and Chi their gold.

“I’m afraid this ends our contract friends, I will be here for many weeks, guiding this group into a stronger defense of their home, and perhaps some will be interested in my god Apollo,” spoke Zahn.

“I’ll stay on without pay, I don’t want all of this to be for nothing,” spoke Chi.

“Where you are, good deeds are done… And I must tell the tale,” spoke Kinner.

Faren would continue to help with security, and Stigus was hired on to help build the homes for the people…

…but it was time for Ren to leave.

“I will return to Jor… I need to expand my study of magic… Perhaps I will leave Galdur for now, but I’m sure we’ll meet again,” speaks Ren.

Zahn arm embraces Ren, “Without your convincing York to send their Roc Riders, we would have surely been lost.”

Ren smiled and nodded, glanced at Kinner, then mounted his horse and left.

That night 3 Orc Scouts returned…

…then for two days, nothing.

On the night of the 24th day, Dreyha returned, and with her, 8 more Druids of Green Tower.

Apparently the High Druid Jarothh had decided the Green Tower would lend their aid to the Cleric of Apollo, and the remaining 59 Human settlers.

The following night, the Orcs returned in numbers, but the 8 Druids, Zahn’s Party, including Dreyha, the 8 Roc Riders of York and the remaining 19 Human Hunters fended them off.

On the 28th day since Zahn’s Journey began, the Dwarves of Thaen returned to build a great wall around what would become the village of ENSENCIA.

And on the 29th day 10 Clerics of Apollo’s Order arrived with 10 wagons of supplies from Zahn’s ship to build the first Galdur Temple of Apollo.
