CHAPTER VIII – Welcome To Tru

As we approach the gates of Tor, the walls surrounding it are some 80′ plus tall, and they stretch on and on…

The city of Tor has some 12,000 plus inhabitants, and is surrounded by a dozen or so villages…

…apparently the City is simply booming.

As we entered, two of the City Guards seem to take an interest in our group, and who can blame them.

Seven unlikely travelers, including a Drow (Dark Elf) and a ‘Blu Hob’ (Half Hobgoblin, Half Blue Orc)…

Fortunately we came upon a tavern, ‘The Gnoll’s Leg’, immediately inside the city, which we headed to…

…and the guards returned to the city gates.

“I’ll stay out here,” spoke Thalo, and so he did.

Inside there were maybe 20 or so occupants…

Dwarves, Halflings, Elves, Gnomes and a handful of Humans.

We took a long table in the middle of the tavern, and ordered ale, wine and food…

I will admit, it was good to be off the road, though the Woods of Fairelight were quite remarkable.

Perhaps I will return there some day to learn what magics the Elves there might hold…

But for now, Tru.

After I finished eating, I decided to check out one of their Potion Shops…

As I exited, Thalo, who was waiting outside the Inn/Tavern, asked if he might join me…

Unbeknownst to me, Z was going to trail me in the shadows for my protection, but changed his plan when he saw Thalo had joined me.

When Thalo and I entered the Potion Shop, there was an elderly Gnome gentleman sitting behind the glass counter, looking through a one eyed eye piece at some goods…

“Hello,” I spoke.

The man removed the eye piece and smiled slightly at me (Ren).

“Well hello there… How may I be of service…” he replied.

“Healing Potions… I was wondering if you might have any in your Store…” I spoke.

The Gnome gave me a squint, then looked at Thalo who was very calm.

He then fetched a sliver box from the shelf behind him, and opened it.

“I do in fact have one,” he sat a circled vial with swirling red glittery liquid inside it on the counter.

“How much?” I asked.

He paused for a moment…

…”Well… You two seem like decent folk… How about 60 gold,” he spoke.

“I’m not decent folk,” spoke Thalo who sat 70 gold on the counter.

I pushed Thalo’s money back to him.

“60 gold is fine… Thank you sir,” I spoke, and we made the exchange.

Just as we were about to leave, the shop keeper took Thalo’s wrist, “Don’t judge yourself to harshly boy… You keep good company,” he spoke.

Thalo glared at him, and he removed his hand from his wrist.

We headed back to the tavern…
