CHAPTER XX – Session 13

Last weeks Session was a true Adventure…

As we all arrived at Johnny’s house for Session 13, we looked forward to determing the value of the Treasure we took, and also what we’d say to the SCOUT SOLDIERS OF TRU.

We all got our food and were ready to start.

“Let’s begin,” spoke Johnny.

The Scout Soldiers of Tru weren’t that difficult to deal with, we just told them that we’d considered taking on the Chimera, but decided against it.

Our journey back to Tru was a quiet one, all of us were a bit tired, and recovering inside and out from our endeavor.

It wasn’t until we reached the city, bathed at the Inn part of ‘The Gnoll’s Leg’ tavern, and all met down stairs at a large table in a corner, that we started to discuss the Hobgoblin Lair.

“I wonder if we’ve stirred the hornets nest, so to speak…” spoke Laris.

“You mean you wonder if Hobgoblin Warlord Torbaloy will retaliate against Tru?” replied Z.

Laris nods.

“Even if they do, they’d likely need more of them than are likely within that Lair to truly threaten Tru…” I (Ren) reply.

“We would have preferred to have taken out Torbaloy anyway… But things were starting to get a bit sticky,” spoke Kinner.

“I think I’ll jump in a card game,” Kinner added, then rose , and joined a nearby game.

“Useful that one,” spoke Z.

“Kinner? Agreed,” replied Chi.

Chi then slid Z back his Healing Potion, “Thanks anyway.”

Z nods, and puts it away.

“I wonder if you could inspect this Large Black Bag Ren,” with this, Z handed the Large Black Bag he found with the treasure to Ren.

Ren takes it, “I’ll need to rest some before I can do an ‘IDENTIFY’ spell on it… Can I hold onto it?” I asked.

“Surely… It’s not mine, it’s the groups,” he replied.

“Our take is around 440 Gold in value, so 64 Gold each, plus these two Vials,” Z sets a Vial with glittery green liquid in it, and one with yellow orange glittery liquid in it on the table.

“I’ll check them out as well… In fact, maybe I’ll hit that Alchemist Shop again, and ask him,” I spoke.

“Seems like a lot of trouble for 64 Gold each…” spoke Chi.

“Yes, well, we went there for more reasons than Gold,” I replied.

Chi rubs where he is wounded, “Sorry, it’s my wounds speaking, I’m going to get some sleep, try to heal up,” Chi spoke then parted.

“Me as well,” spoke Thalo, who left as well.

Stryke on the other hand hit the bar, leaving Z, Laris and myself.

Z felt a bit awkward, like a third wheel, “Think I’ll see how Kinner’s doing,” and stepped away.

It was quiet for a moment, then “What are you thinking,” spoke Laris.

“I’m finding myself longing for more purpose,” I replied.

“Like your Cleric friend, Zahn…” she replied with a half smile.

I smile back, “No… Not so grand.”

“What about you… What’s next for you?” I asked.

“Hmm… Hard to say… Finding myself wondering about Torbaloy,” she replied.

“We’ll know soon enough I think…” I reply.

“Going to go check these things out,” I hold up the Bag and Vials.

“I’ll come with you,” she replies.

“Aye Sir, what you have here is a POTION OF GIANTS STRENGTH, and a POTION OF WATER BREATHING, spoke the Alchemist who I had bought a Healing Potion from prior to our journey to the Hobgoblin Lair.

“What about this?” I held up the Large Black Bag, not knowing if he knew anything about this sort of thing.

He took it in his hands, and tossed a large item into it…

…”A BAG OF HOLDING…” he spoke

“Very rare indeed… I’ll give you 500 Gold for it if yah like… There’s a very high demand for them,” he spoke.

“Interesting… Probably not, but thank you for the offer…” I replied.

When we returned to the tavern, Z approached, “Heading to bed,” he spoke.

I handed him the Bag, “It’s a Bag of Holding… And I think you should have it… I’ll check with the Group tomorrow, but I’m sure they’ll agree… Without your Skills, we may not have gotten any of the Treasure at all.”

“I don’t know… Laris was quiet a help,” he replied with a smirk smile, Laris blushed a bit.

“I was thinking this Potion of Giant Strength for Stryke, and maybe the Potion of Water Breathing to Kinner,” I added.

Laris and Z seemed to agree.

“Well, I’ll give up my share of the Gold, Silver and Jewels we found If I get this Bag, It’s worth much more than a 64 Gold share,” Z spoke.

I nodded, “I’m heading to sleep as well.”

“Thanks for this,” spoke Z gesturing to the Bag of Holding now securely strapped to his waste.

I nodded, and we all went to sleep.
