Part One – Reality

Part Two – Jack Frost

Part Three – The Deal

Part Four – The Never Ending Winter

Jonathon spoke as Jack Frost stood their listening.

“You must stop this winter storm” he spoke.

Jack paced around the room, leaving cold blue footprints upon Jonathon’s floor.

“Must I?” he replied.

“Why… Yes” continued Jonathon.

Jack stood still leaning on his icy blue staff.

“And why, might I ask, “Must I”” he spoke more than asked.

“Because I didn’t know” replied Jonathon.

Suddenly concern came across Jack’s brow.

“Didn’t… Know… What?” he replied.

“That he really exists” spoke Jonathon.

With this Jack flinched, and slowly started towards the window, covering his ears, and saying “La La La” so that he could no longer hear Jonathon speak.

Noting Jack’s obvious discomfort, Jonathon jumped out of bed with both hands on his waist.

“I BELIEVE!” he yelled, so that Jack was certain to hear him, even with his ears covered.

Jack froze, turned back towards Jonathon, and uncovered his ears.

“Great” replied Jack, as the stormy sky behind him started to suddenly clear…

Leaving a orange, red deep morning sky in the distance.

“Goodbye Jonathon Prior… Someday, you may have need of me once more… But not today” Jack spoke, and leaped out Jonathon’s window, turning into a hand full of show as he did… And bursting away from Jonathon’s small town.

With this Jonathon ran downstairs to his mother’s bedroom, where she sat awake knitting.

“Mother… Are you feeling better?” he spoke as he sat on the bed beside her.

“Santa’s on the rise again” she spoke never looking away from her knitting.

“Indeed mother… Indeed… But” spoke Jonathon.

His mother looked over at him “Your friend Esmeralda will be leaving” she spoke.

“Yes” Jonathon replied sadly.

“Than you shall have to write her in Arizona” replied his mother.

This seemed to perk Jonathon a bit “Yes… I shall write her.”

And so Christmas came…

And shortly after Esmeralda and her family did indeed move away.

But as Jonathon played alone on his porch, he smiled warmly within, knowing that ‘Santa’ did exist…

Or at least, he ‘Believed’ he did.

“JONATHON! COME IN FOR SUPPER SON!” called his mother, whose health had returned.

“YES MOTHER” Jonathon replied, and ran inside.

Part One – Reality

Part Two – Jack Frost

Part Three – The Deal

Little Jonathon Prior couldn’t believe his eyes…

Before him stood none other than Jack Frost himself.

“Well Boy… Have You Nothing To Say” Jack Frost stated, more than asked.

“Uhh…” was all that young Jonathon Prior could muster.

With this Jack’s yellow eyes glowed all the more, as he tapped his long frozen stick against the ground.

Jonathan looked at his white hair, and blue skin, and still couldn’t believe it to be possible.

“Are you really Jack Frost?” asked Jonathon, some how gathering the courage to do so.

“Yes Of Course I Am… And I Haven’t Much Time… Just What Are You Willing To Give Up To Get This Storm You’ve Wished For?” questioned Jack Frost impatiently.

“Uhh… Storm?” replied Jonathon drawing a blank as to what he could be speaking of.

“Yes… Yes… You Just Wished For A Storm That Would Keep Your Fare Esmeralda From Leaving… You Know… Keeping Her From Moving Away” he spoke to Jonathon’s disbelief.

“Oh… Yes But…” Jonathon started to say, but Jack interrupted.

“Four Months Is As Long A Storm That I Can Offer… But You Do Realize That Such A Storm Will Keep Santa From Coming This Year” spoke Jack as he turned, and walked slightly away from where Jonathon was sitting.

“Uhh… Santa?” replied Jonothan.

“Yes… Yes… Santa… Do We Have A Deal, Or Not?” insisted Jack.

“I don’t believe in Santa” replied Jonathon flatly.

This really seemed to make Jack happy “Ohh, Good… Then We have A Deal?” he spoke, as he took off his long white fur winter’s glove, and stuck out his blue frozen hand.

Jonathon hesitated at first… And then reached out and shook Jack Frost’s hand…

The Sheer cold of his frozen hand almost causing frost bite to Jonathon’s hand.

“Very Good” spoke Jack as he pulled back on his winter glove.

“Now You Best Get Inside… This Is Going To Be A Nasty One” spoke Jack as he held his hands, and staff to the sky and started to motion around in the air.

With this dark clouds started to fill the sky, and the temperature quickly dropped some 20 degrees.

“Get Inside Boy!” snapped Jack, and Jonathon did just that.

He ran into the house, and bolted the door behind him.

Seeing the fire was dying in the house, Jonathon quickly threw several more pieces of wood into the fire… Then ran upstairs and stared down at Jack Frost below, as he conjured up a storm like Jonathon had never seen before.

Part One – Reality

Part Two – Jack Frost

Once Esmeralda went inside, Jonathon came out from behind the curtains… “Phew… That was close” he thought to himself.

It was Friday, which meant all the realtors would be bringing people to look at Esmeralda’s parent’s home… As it had been on the market for several months.

Nothings ever come from it, so Jonathon wasn’t really worried… Until

SATURDAY MORNING

The next day after Jonathon had made his mom, and he some eggs… Once again, not an easy task, as he was not very tall. Jonathon decided it was a good day to go through his old Hot Wheel collection, and so brought out a tin container, which held some 15 little cars within it.

While playing, he heard quite a bit of talking coming from across the way, and so decided to look out his window.

There were Esmeralda’s parents, talking, and shaking hands with a realtor, and what looked to be a middle aged couple.

“Could it be possible? Could they have finally sold the house?” he wondered to himself.

Just then Esmeralda came running out of the house holding a doll… But before Jonathon could hide, she looked up at him, and smiled slightly.

Jonathon, finding more nerve than usual, decided to go outside and find out what was going on.

The moment he got outside, Esmeralda was there…

“Her name is Stacey Lynn” indicated Esmeralda as she held up her doll in Jonathon’s general direction.

“Uh… Ok” replied Jonathon, still recovering from Esmeralda immediately showing up on his doorstep.

“Did your parents…” Jonathon started to say, but Esmeralda interjected.

“Sell our house? Yeah” she replied as she sat on Jonathon’s porch steps, head down in obvious sadness, playing with her doll.

Jonathon hesitantly sat down beside her “Oh” he simply replied.

“We’re moving to Arizona… I guess it’s warmer there… My parents are tired of the Winters here in Washington” she explained.

“I see” Jack replied.

“ESMERALDA!! COME IN DEAR!!” yelled Esmeralda’s mother.

“But I shall miss you Jonathon Prior” Esmeralda spoke, and before he could reply, she placed a soft kiss upon his cheek, and ran off.

“COMING MOM!!” she replied.

Suddenly Jonathon jumped up “ESMERALDA!!” he yelled without thinking, and she turned to face him.

“WHAT ABOUT YOUR HANDKERCHIEF!?” he continued.

With this she smiled slightly again “KEEP IT!” she yelled, and ran inside her home.

SEVERAL HOURS LATER

AFTER NIGHTFALL

Jonathon was still sitting on his front step… Very distraught.

Suddenly he jumped up, and started to pace around… Meanwhile inside Esmeralda’s house, he could see the little families shadows around the dining room table.

“What if a great storm would come… And keep them from going to Arizona” he thought to himself.

“Then I’d never lose Esmeralda” he finished.

Suddenly a chill came over Jonathon… Something unnatural.

“Well… That’s rather selfish of you… Don’t you think” came an unnatural voice from the darkness.

“Who is it? Whose there?” spoke Jonathon anxiously.

And out of the darkness stepped a man with blue skin, and whitish bluish hair, and glowing yellow eyes “Jack’s the name” he spoke, and Jonathon could not believe his eyes.

“Jack Frost” he concluded.

Listen to While Reading The Poem Below;

Sequined Youth

As I Lay Back and Touch The Sky…

Flower Petals, do I Spy

Amongst the Winds, and Warm Sunlight

These Boys… These Girls

Their Hopes do Fly…

Time is their Friend

I wish It’d never End…

Hopes and Dreams…

None Yet to Mend

We all Have Dreams…

Some Less…

Some More

We Wear Them Like…

Some Sequin…

Adorned

Innocence, is More than Words

The Truths…

The Pains…

Go Yet…

Unheard

Fight!!

Take Flight!!

Learn…

Listen

Sense…

Feel

Slow the Skies…

Embrace Goodbyes

This is your Life…

This is your Time

There’s Been No Mistake…

These Breaths you take

Are Yours, and yours Alone

So Breathe Deep… Know your Soul

Greet Your Friends…

Seek Unknowns

And Live
