CHAPTER XXXXVI – Battle

As night fell, the Orcs drums returned, but this time from all sides of the encampment.

The 30 settler Hunters stood ready, hiding behind bales of hay, and anything else they could hide behind.

Meanwhile, the Roc Riders of York awaited the horn of battle, as they waited in the nearby mountainsides.

Zahn, Tor-Atimus, Stigus, Kinner, Ren and Faren were all in the strategy tent…

“Where’s Chi?” questioned Kinner.

“He’s taking a closer look,” spoke Zahn.

Kinner went silent, then left the tent.

Minutes later he appeared by Chi’s side, who was hiding in the shadows behind a tree outside the encampment.

“What’s the word,” spoke Kinner.

“Any moment…” replied Chi.

Suddenly three Orcs started to sneak towards the encampment, drums beating in the background.

Chi drew back his bow, and right before his shot Kinner put his hand on his shoulder… “FORTITUDINEM PATRARE…” and a dark blue glow crossed Chi’s body…

…with this Chi filled with bravery as he released the shot striking one of their shoulders.

They both then ran back towards the encampment.

The three Orcs ran after them, but waiting for them was the Barbarian Faren.

He goes into a RAGE, and a FRENZY, then throws both of his hand axes striking two of them…

The three Orcs then throw javelins at Faren, two hitting him, but being in a Rage, he did not flinch.

The rest of the Orcs then charged into the encampment throwing spears, striking 7 Hunter settlers, but killing none.

Zahn raises his hands, “BENEDICITE…” and a white light passes over Stigus, Tor-Atimus and himself.

Tor-Atimus blows the horn of battle summoning the 8 Roc Riders of York.

“PULL BACK THE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED!” yells Zahn, and Tor-Atimus runs out to the settler Hunters, and raises his hand, which glows white, and touches a badly wounded Hunter, healing him some.

Stigus pulls back her bow, and shootsa an Orc in the throat, it crumples and falls to the ground.

Ren then speaks, “CHROMATIC ORBIS!” and a 4″ diameter orb of fire appears, and he hurls it at an Orc, engulfing it in fire.

Suddenly the 8 Roc Riders of York appear in the sky, and tear down onto the battlefield, each of the Riders shooting arrows, two of them hitting Orcs…

…their Rocs (Large Birds) then swoop down, talons blaring, they grasp, squeeze and drop  7 or 8 Orcs, killing them.

Chi then turned around and took another shot, but missed.

Kinner then started to sing, and play his fiddle, causing a yellow glow to go over Chi.

Faren takes two swings of his great axe, but the Orcs are able to avoid the blows.

The remaining 20 Orcs then enter the encampment, their great axes above their heads…

…they kill 8 of the 30 Human Hunters.

Zahn raises his hands they glow white…

…suddenly white flashes strike 4 different wounded Hunters in the chest, healing each of them.

Stigus takes two shots, slaying another Orc…

…and Ren hurls another ball of flame, but misses.

The Roc Riders shoot arrows, but only one strikes an Orc, knocking him to his knees.

And the Rocs swooped down and killed two more.

Kinner attacked with two short swords, but the Orcs dodge the blows.

Zahn raises his hands, “PESSULUM!”

A flash of light strikes an Orc in the chest killing it.

The remaining 14 Orcs kill 3 more Human Hunters, and one of them strikes Stigus in the chest.

Tor-Atimus raises his battle axe, and it glows orange as he strikes down two Orcs.

Stigus throws both of her hand axes which strike one large Orc…

…but he still stands.

Ren puts his hands up once more and they glow red, summoning one last fireball, he hurls it and incinerates an Orc.

Two more arrows strike Orcs from the Roc Riders, and the Rocs kill 5 more…

Leaving 6 alive.

Chi stot one more.

Kinner misses two…

…and the last 5 Orcs run off.

In the end, 25 Orcs, and 12 Human Hunters lay dead.

CHAPTER XXXXV – Quiet Before The Storm

By the end of the night, Zahn, Chi and Tor-Atimus had returned to the Human Encampment.

Kinner had also been dropped off by Dreyha, and she had reentered the sky, and headed towards the Green Tower to deliver her report to the High Druid Jarothh.

That night, as the encampment slept, Faren lead a watch of he and 4 Human settlers.

During the watch they spotted several Gnolls who seemed to check out the encampment visually, but did not approach.

“Gnolls… That’s all we need,” spoke Faren.

And later, three Orc Scouts were spotted, who also did not approach.

In the morning of the 19th day Zahn threw a meeting, and Faren spoke first.

“We spotted three Gnolls last night, and three Orc Scouts…” he reported.

“Our talks with the Leader of the nearby Orcs did not fare well… I’m afraid they may attack at any time…” spoke Zahn.

The settlers were very upset, and the three that Zahn had met with originally had questions.

“What do we do now? The walls your Barbarian speaks of won’t be built for weeks if not months.

“How well can your people fight?” questioned Zahn.

“I mean… Several of us have battled Orcs, and also hunt for the encampment,” the settler replied.

“We need more help… You spoke of Dwarves in these mountains who we might employee to build the walls… Would they consider standing beside us?” spoke Tor-Atimus.

The settlers looked perplexed, “I mean… Why would Dwarves helps us?” one spoke.

Zahn smiled, “You’d be surprised…”

“I speak Dwarven… I will lead a Party to retrieve some of the Dwarves to come and meet with us both for the construction of the wall, and the general support of the encampment…” spoke Chi.

Zahn nodded.

“We’ll send four of our hunters with you,” spoke the settler.

And so Chi and the four settler hunters departed.

Faren approached Zahn, “If they attack, we do not have the men to defend this encampment.”

Zahn put his hand on his shoulder, “Do what you can… Determine how many of them can fight, and get back to me.”

Faren nodded, and went to get a count.

Stigus approached Zahn with Kinner, “We’ve set up a tent for you to strategize,” spoke Stigus.

Zahn nodded, and they all went to the tent…

…Stigus, Kinner, Tor-Atimus and Zahn.

Before them was a map of the local area.

Tor-Atimus stood in the doorway of the tent…

…”It’s too quiet… The Orcs must be preparing an attack… I suspect we have a day at most,” spoke Tor-Atimus.

Zahn nodded.

On the morning of the 20th day, 13 Orcs stood some 50 yards from the encampment banging their drums.

Faren had determined that the encampment had some 30 or so that could handle a weapon…

…Chi and the four Human Hunters had returned with four Dwarven warriors.

“Your situation is grim my friend,” spoke one of the Dwarven Warriors to Zahn.

Suddenly 8 Roc (Large Bird) Riders landed in front of the encampment…

…Roc Riders of York.

From one of the Rocs back was a passenger…

…Ren.

Kinner ran up and hugged him, “Glad to see you old friend,” he spoke.

Ren smiled and nodded.

“We have York’s support,” spoke Ren to Zahn.

“Eight Roc Riders… Not bad,” replied Faren.

With this the Orcs departed.

Zahn looked at Tor-Atimus…

…”They’ll return, with greater numbers,” Tor-Atimus spoke.

CHAPTER XXXXIV – Short Encounter

Chi, Zahn and Tor-Atimus rode into the mountains north of the Human Settlement for a two hours, then ran into three Orcs standing upon some sharded rocks, some 80′ ahead…

…as if waiting for them.

Tor-Atimus stepped forward,”We wish to speak to your Leader…” he spoke in Orcish.

The Orcs paused, then started to lead them to their dwelling.

Soon they entered the heavily populated mountainside where the Orcs all watched them go by, but made not a noise.

These Orcs were all wearing black leather armour.

Zahn noted Human slaves here and there.

Soon the three Orcs lead them, and stood before a great tent, where a more fierce looking Orc came out.

“What do you want Human…” he spoke in Common, looking at Zahn.

Zahn dismounted, “I’ve come to request that you leave the Human encampment alone.”

The Orc laughed angrily, “These are our mountains…”

With this he went back into his tent, and the tree Orcs lead them back out of the camp.

“Well, that went well,” spoke Zahn.

Meanwhile to the west in the Port of YORK, where the YORK ROCK RIDERS circled the Port as protectors, Dreyha sent word upon a vessel heading to Despa to Zahn’s Order.

Soon they would receive it, then send some of their Clerics/Priests to retrieve the ship in Jor, and bring it here to York.

Meanwhile Ren and Kinner rode to the cliffs above Jor, and got into a large wooden rope pulled contraption which would be lowered to the Port of York.

Soon they were in the BLUE RING TAVERN.

“I don’t feel right leaving them,” spoke Kinner.

“Then go back,” replied Ren, already half drunk.

“Alright,” replied Kinner who rose, and left.

Ren was stunned…

…but spent the rest of the night drinking.

Kinner made his way to the stables to fetch his horse.

“Want a lift?” spoke the familiar voice of Dreyha from the shadows.

“Dreyha…” he embraced her, “It’s good to see you… But what about my horse?”

“We’ll leave em here for now,” she replied.

Kinner nodded, and Dreyha became a Great Eagle once more and carried him back towards the Human settlement.

CHAPTER XXIV – The Hunted

As the 5 Black Rock Orcs, and Chi the Elven Ranger they’ve captured, near the Black Rock Tribe’s Home Dwelling, one of the Orcs suddenly comes to a halt.

“What is it…” speaks the Leader.

“Somethings following us…” he replies

Chi, fluent in 7 languages, including Orc, becomes hopeful.

“WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GOING WITH MY FRIEND!” comes a Booming Voice from in front of them.

Standing in path before them is Ren, the Tiefling Wizard, his eyes glowing an unnatural red.

The Orcs seem shaken, but do not flee.

“GET HIM!” yells the Leader in Orcish.

Three of the Ors charge the Wizard, axes risen above their heads, when they get some 15′ from him…

“TONITRUA FLUCTUS!” Ren speaks…

…and with a thunderous ‘BOOM!’ sound, a glowing cube of energy appears before him, blowing them all back 10′, wounding them.

“ARGH!” they yell.

Suddenly Faren, the Drudgek Barbarian, leaps down from the nearby rocks, and goes into a RAGE!

“You’ve made a huge mistake, Orcs!” he proclaims in Orcish.

He then brings down his great axe upon the Orc standing in front of the Orc Leader, knocking him to his knees…

The Leader seems frantic as Kinner suddenly appears two rapiers drawn before him…

“On guard!” he speaks in Common.

He takes two strikes at the Leader, striking him each time.

Suddenly the Cleric Zahn appears on the hill…

…”SACRIS FLAMA!” he speaks, and a flame like radiance leaves his hand, and strikes the Leader Orc in the chest, knocking him to the ground.

Stigus, the Dragonborn Warrior, also appears in the rocks above, longbow drawn back…

Next to her the Half Orc Paladin Tor-Atimus appears as well…

“Please… Stop this… Release our friend… We do not wish to kill you…” he yells in Orcish.

The other 4 Orcs then make their way back to the Leader, all of them wounded.

The Leader motions the release of Chi, their Elven Ranger friend, and so they unchain him.

Chi makes his way to Tor-Atimus.

Suddenly a horn can be heard some 10 minutes away to the East.

“It’s my fault…” speaks Ren… “My Tunderwave let off such a noise.”

“No matter… We’re leaving now!” proclaims Zahn, and their Party retreat to their horses, save Tor-Atimus, who stares down at the Orc Party.

“You are a traitor to your kind…” yells the Leader.

Tor-Atimus says nothing, then retreats to his horse as well.

CHAPTER XXIII – Session 4

Last Session was a cliff hanger.

Due to creativity, skill and diligence, our Party has yet to see battle.

And yet we ended last Session with one of our Party Members, Trevor’s Elven Ranger Chi, being captured by a Party of Orcs.

As I sit on the bus heading to Johnny’s house, I can’t wait to see how our Party responds.

Being it was the Ranger who was taken, it might be rough to track them down without him.

I enter Johnny’s house 20 minutes later, 10 minutes early as usual.

“What’s up Connor,” speaks Trevor, more friendly than usual.

Perhaps he’s just more relaxed because his Character is captured…

…he’ll likely be chillen, and watching us play.

Stacy and her friend Lisa come in, “Hello Connor,” says Stacy.

I’m speechless, but reply, “Hello.”

Lisa waves as well as they go upstairs to Stacy’s room.

I get my stuff out of my backpack, and Barry comes in.

“Hello, hello!” he proclaims.

“We’re going to be ordering some pizza’s if you guys want in,” speaks Johnny.

“I’m in, how much do you need,” I ask.

“Five bucks each is fine,” he replies.

Mike arrives, “Hey Barry, Trevor, Conner, Johnny.”

All of us chip in for pizza, Stacy and Lisa come down stairs, and we begin.

“Let me see that,” speaks Faren, the Drudgek Barbarian who the Barbarian Prince Noria has sent with the Party for some mysterious reason…

He kneels down and looks at the tracks, “These are Black Stone Orcs… Their Tribe is 4 hours from here on foot… This Party has a two hour lead on us, but on horse we have a chance to reach them just as they enter their Tribes territory…”

“They’ve come for me, not the Elf,” speaks Tor-Atimus grimly.

“How can you possibly know that,” replies Kinner.

“Of course… Because you’re a Half Orc… Or is it because you’re a Paladin…” interjects Ren.

“Both,” replies Tor-Atimus.

“Well, we haven’t got much time, to our horses!” proclaims Zahn.

“Someone needs to stay here with Zara and Prin,” speaks Tor-Atimus.

“I’ll stay,” says Toto.

“I can stay as well,” adds Kinner.

“No Kinner, we may need your tricks,” replies Zahn.

And so the Party takes off, two hours behind them, it will take them two hours to catch up.

CHAPTER XXII – Rude Awakening

We were taking a short break from what had become an exciting Session…

Chi, our/Trevor’s Elven Ranger, had been captured by Orcs, probably the most exciting thing we as a group had yet to experience…

“Ok, so Stacy, your Warrior Stigus Leveled,” spoke Johnny.

“Yup, my Max Hit Points are now 21, instead of 11… And I’ve got ‘ACTION SURGE’ which basically allows me to take an extra Action once per Short Rest,” she explained.

“Awesome!” exclaimed Johnny.

“Now lets get back into our Tale…” Johnny concluded.

When Tor-Atimus’s eyes opened he knew something was wrong…

Chi hadn’t woke him for his watch.

Tor-Atimus looked around, “CHI!” he yelled, not caring that it would likely wake the rest of the Party.

Kinner, our Drow Bard was first to wake, followed immediately by our Leader, Zahn, a Cleric of Apollo.

“What is it! What’s wrong…” spoke Kinner.

“It’s Chi… He’s not here…” frantically replied Tor-Atimus.

“CHORUS LUMINA!” proclaims Kinner, and suddenly four glowing bright green orbs appear around the camp, lighting up the surrounding area.

Zahn starts to check for tracks…

“Here!” Tor-Atimus hollers.

By now the rest of the Party has awoken.

With tears of anguish in his eyes, Tor-Atimus gazes at Zahn, “It was Orcs…”

OUT OF GAME

“And that’s where we’ll end our Session, ” speaks Johnny.

Everyone is so riled up, yet tired.

“Where are you Chi! Where are you!” Barry says to Trevor, whilst shaking both of his shoulders.

Trevor just shrugs.

“What a great game,” speaks Stacy’s friend Lisa.

“I’d invite you to join, but we’ve already got 6 players, including myself,” explains Johnny.

“I’ll likely be out of commission next week cuz my Ranger’s been captured, she can run the slave girls,” interjects Trevor.

“True… True… Alright, be here next week!” Johnny exclaims.

CHAPTER XXI – Captor

On the 8th day of travel, the Party moved across the Drudgek grasslands North West of Drudgek Keep.

No one made an effort to speak to the Barbarian Faren, as he rode up the rear of the group.

The Marching Order was Stigus and Chi in front, with Zahn and Tor-Atimus behind them.

And then the two slave (now free) girls, named ZARA and PRIN.

Behind them, the Bandit (now ex bandit), TOTO.

Behind him was Ren and Kinner…

…and then Faren.

When they made camp, Stigus would take first watch, but Faren would secretly be awake as well.

Within the first hour of watch, Stigus heard a crunching sound coming from some 30 feet from camp.

She moved into the dark, her Darkvision made it easy to see, and she quickly came across an Ogre eating a Deer.

Unnoticed by the Ogre, she backed her way back into camp and woke Tor-Atimus and Chi…

…both who spoke the language of ‘Giant’, which is what Ogres also speak.

Tor-Atimus went out to the Ogre, and was able to convince it to move on…

…it took its deer with it.

“I must say, traveling with you Tor-Atimus, being a Half Orc, does change things a bit…” spoke Stigus.

“Orcs and I have never gotten along… But I consider you a friend Tor-Atimus,” added Chi, who stuck his hand out.

Tot-Atimus grimaced, and shook it.

“I do believe it’s my watch,” continued Chi.

All was quiet on Chi’s watch, until…

…out of nowhere two Orcs ran into the camp, covered the Elven Ranger’s mouth, and fled the camp with him.

Once some 40 feet away from camp, they tried to knock Chi unconscious, but his Elven slyness allowed him to out maneuver them…

Suddenly a third Orc came leaping at him and Chi ducked completely, causing the Orc to tumble on the ground.

A forth then came, but he dodged him as well…

…unfortunately Chi did not see the fifth behind him, who knocked him out with a rock to the head.

CHAPTER XVI – Orcs

“Naughty, naughty,” suddenly speaks Kinner’s voice from behind the two bandits in the dark.

They jump in surprise, “We meant you no harm… We were just passing through, and saw your fire.”

With this Chi draws his bow back, “Thought you might scope it out, and determine how easily it would be to rob us.”

“Well, ha ha, sirs, you must understand… This is our livelihood…”

“It is a tainted profession,” the deep voice of Tor-Atimus rumbles through the camp, as he appears in front of the fire bearing his great sword.

“Please… Have mercy… Find it in your heart’s goodness to let us go…” pleas one of the Bandits.

“We’re not holding you,” suddenly speaks Zahn who walks up directly to them.

He then pulls out the medallion from around his neck, hanging on a gold chain, is a bright yellow sun.

As he holds it up to them, his eyes fill with golden light, as does the sun medallion, as it casts its’ glow upon the men…

…one of them falls to his knees, “Please… I beg of you… Have mercy,”

Suddenly all of them have retreated from their positions, and returned to their beds leaving the two Bandits where they were.

The one on his knees rises, “I know of Apollo… He is a glorious god… This land has been godless for too long…” he turns to his partner in crime, “I’m staying to find a way to serve this Cleric in anyway I can…”

“Are you mad!” the other speaks.

“No… I am saved,” and with this, the Bandit lays down his bed roll, and does his best to go to sleep.

The other runs off.

Tor-Atimus suddenly appears, and sits by the fire, as his Watch shift has begun, sending Chi to bed with the others.

“Come closer to the fire boy,” he speaks in his rumbling Half-Orc tone.

The Bandit stands, grabs his bedroll, and lays it out closer to the fire, “Thank you.”

An hour later Tor-Atimus senses… Something.

He looks up and four Orcs stand 20 feet away, just out of the fire light, but his Darkvision shows them clearly.

He raises his hand in greetings to them.

One of them raises his hand…

…Tor-Atimus stands, and walks over to them.

“Not much moon tonight…” he speaks in Orcish.

“Not much moon,” the apparent leader of them replies.

“Are you in need of food?” Tor-Artimus questions.

“We are not…” the leader replies.

Meanwhile Chi lays in the dark, listening to the conversation, as he speaks Orc, but not letting them know he is awake.

“Why are you traveling with these…” speaks the leader.

“I am a Paladin… And so I have left my people… I am from far away… A land called Despa…” explains Tor-Atimus.

“I know Despa… Why are you here?” the leader continues.

“I travel with a Cleric… A Priest of Apollo… I seek a greater purpose…” explains Tor-Atimus.

“Hmmph… We go,” replies the leader, none to pleased at his response, but, none to bothered either.

“Farewell friend…” speaks Tor-Atimus.

“May you find this ‘purpose’, and not be betrayed in the searching,” speaks the leader as he and the other three Orcs walk away.

“Hark As Tales Do Tell Of The Great Eagles, And Their Elven Riders… But These Tales Be Real”

EPISODE XIV

Kor’s 100 White Orcs did as ordered (Kor’s Last Appearence Was In Episode IX), and split into 5 parties of 20… They dispersed to the outer areas of the Lake of Gorne which sadly included a single Town known as Braewood…

One of the Parties of 20 would lay siege on this Village by nightfall…

Blood would surely fall.

Meanwhile in the forests of Widdleben, Borgodan, the Paladin of Blue Hawk, and his traveling companion, a Great Wolf Rider Warrior known as Nathe (Last Seen In Episode X), would soon be in the Town of Widdleben, where they would rest for the night, and replenish their supplies for the next days journey into the Mountain Region of The North Lands.

…but for some, that would not be soon enough.

Suddenly from the sky a Giant White Eagle did appear…

SCREEECCCHHH!

…and upon his back, a white and sliver clad Elf, bearing a long silver spear which he held above his head… And a white feathered silver helmet.

“By the Gods!” gasped Borgodan, and he pulled back the reigns of his black Warhorse…

Nathe too was taken off guard, but without exclamation.

The Great Eagle landed before them…

Nathe stepped forward, “Greetings Elf… What business have you with us,” he spoke.

Borgodan, not at all impressed with Nathe’s charms, and/or lack of, stepped forward as well…

“Greetings Great Eagle… How may we be of service?” spoke Borgodan.

Nathe was completely baffled by the fact that Borgodan was talking not to the Elf, but to the Giant Eagle itself.

Suddenly the Great Eagle did in fact speak…

SCREEECH SCRAWWW SCCROOOM SCRA

…in his own tongue that is.

The Elf, LEVAND by name, translated the Great Eagle’s response.

“The Great Eagle Ziox would ask that you board its’ back with me, and head north to the Town of Braewood…” spoke Levand.

Nathe looked at Borgodan, then at the Elf, “Not a chance–” he started to say…

“–Of course,” replied Borgodan, who looked into his horse Order’s eyes, and whispered to him… Order then ran towards the Town of Widdleben.

Borgodan began to step towards the Great Eagle, when Nathe grabbed him by the shoulder, “Are you mad?? Getting on top of a Giant Eagle!”

Borgodan shook him off, “You needs not come Nathe…” and mounted Ziox with his gear on his back.

SCCCEEER SCREEECHE

The Great Eagle spoke at Nathe, but before the Elf Levand could translate…

“I know, I know,” Nathe spoke, as he too scruffed his Great Silver Dire Wolf’s head, and sent it off northward as well, “you need me as well… I get it.”

The Great Eagle then soared into the air, carrying the three travelers northward.

“Behold These Early Signs Of War… And All Its’ Discomforts”

EPISODE XII

Tora and Hannah continued their journey north through the South West Hills of The North Land’s Hill Region (Their journey was last posted in Episode VII)…

They passed many herds of local animals, but traveled without issue for several days…

They then came upon some Tribesmen from the Village of Shar, several days west of them.

Shar lays in the middle of a small forest on peaks dropping down to the Xoat Ocean.

There were 12 Tribesmen in all, carrying spears and wooden shields… They appeared to be being lead by a Cleric, or Druid, who was in front.

They approached on feet.

Tora dismounted from the back of Hannah’s horse, and approached the Tribesmen Leader one hand raised.

“Greetings… I am Tora… Keeper, and Paladin of the Fire Tree Order…” she then gestured towards Hannah, “This is my travelling companion, Hannah… A Curate Cleric, and Healer…”

“Greetings Paladin and Cleric… You’d best go back from whence you came… There is trouble to the North… And some of it is nearly upon us,” replied the Druid Leader.

Hannah then dismounted, and joined the conversation, “What kind of trouble… Do you speak of the White Orc Legions… Do you speak of Kor?”

“We have not time to concern ourselves of Kor… His allies are on their way, and they are not White Orcs,” replied the Druid.

Tora looked at Hannah, then back to the Druid.

Tora stepped closer to the Druid, “As a Paladin of Fire Tree, it is my sworn duty to protect those in need… How may I service you?”

“Go,” spoke the Druid, as he gestured for his Party to continue north, and they started to run off.

Hannah stepped beside Tora, and followed her eyes which peered upon the departing Party.

“We best abide their wishes…” spoke Hannah, who then placed a hand upon Tora’s shoulder.

“That Party of Tribesmen will surely perish if we do not aid them…” spoke Tora angstedly.

“We must respect the Druid’s wishes… They are heading in the direction that we are anyway… We shall stay back, but keep watch none the less,” stated Hannah, who remounted her horse.

Tora looked up at Hannah who had spoke wisely, “Agreed,” then remounted the back of Hanna’s horse.

Day turned to night, and the Tribesmen stopped and made camp, as they feasted and spoke of troubles ahead.

Hannah had also made a campfire, and was eating, and looking into the fire, when she took note of Tora, who was pacing back and forth.

“Come Tora… Eat something… Get some warmth… The cool winds of the North are upon us… These are not typical temperatures for the Hill Region,” Hannah spoke as she pulled her cloak over her shoulders.

“I want to ride ahead… Make sure the Tribesmen aren’t ambushed in the night,” Tora spoke.

“My horse,” replied Hannah.

“Hannah… I’m sure you can feel it as I do,” insisted Tora.

“Nope… Just a bit cold here… No premonitions,” Hannah replied.

Suddenly out of the dark the Druid Party Leader appeared, causing Hannah to jump…

“By the gods you scared me Druid,” spoke Hannah.

“You wish to help?” spoke the Druid to Tora.

“Yes… We do!” quickly replied Tora.

Minutes later the Tribesmen, Tora and Hannah sat atop a large hill and looked to the bottom of the hill where a Frost Giant was sleeping, surrounded by four Winter Wolves.

“This creature should not be here…” spoke the Druid.
