Bay City

On The Outskirts Of Avalon

The Prison Dome

Bay City Police Department

Lieutenant Fade Black stares outside the window…

…in the distance, the red prison dome can be seen

“Fade you alright?” he’s suddenly awoken by the voice of Lieutenant Lin.

“Oh… Yeah… What’s up?” he replies in a half daze.

Fade is a 6′ 3″ man, in his late 20’s.

Lieutenant Lin is a Chinese woman in her mid 20’s.

“The Chief wants you go to this guys house, ‘Rain McCann’, and question him about this ‘Rune’ fellow… Supposedly he knew him.”

Fade smirks, “Alright…”

“Rune… Come on… That guy is a myth… I finally get together enough evidence to prove that the criminals in Avalon are about to make a break out of the dome, and they give me this…”

Fade gets into his dark brown red police vessel, and whizs off down the road.

“How am I ever going to make Detective at this rate… This is ridiculous… A waste of my time.”

Fade’s patrol vessel approaches a large house on a hill… He holds up his badge to a visual device outside the gate.

“Lieutenant Black, Bay City Police…”

The gates open, and he drives in.

As Fade gets out of his car, he tosses his coat into his police vessel, and turns to walk towards the front door…

…standing in the doorway is a man in his early 30’s, dark hair, maybe 6′ tall…

…he just stares at Fade for a moment, then steps forward.

“Rain McCann, good to meet you Lieutenant.”

Fade reluctantly shakes his hand.

“This will only take a few minutes Mr. McCann,” Fade explains as the two enter the large house.

Rain takes Fade into a library, and pours him a drink.

“Oh, no, I’m on duty…” Fade holds out his hand blocking the drink.

“Yes… It’s not alcoholic,”

“Oh,” Fade replies, takes the drink, and sits it on a nearby table.

Rain sits, crosses his legs, and starts to pet the white cat that arrives on his lap.

“Ask away,” he speaks.

“Oh… Right,” Fade babbles, as he sits as well.

“The department sent me here to ask you about a man named ‘Rune’… I know what you’re thinking–” Fade is then interrupted.

“Rune… Yes… The man who captured our criminal population, and placed them in the Dome Prison they call Avalon…” Rain replies as he sips at his brandy.

“Why… Yes…” Fade is surprised to hear Rains response.

“Anyway… I’ve been heading up some research that has revealed that the Avalon crime boss Jonah is looking to make a break with many of his criminal followers…”

“That’s terrible,” Rain interjects.

“Yes… Well… The Department felt that we should try to make contact with this… Rune fellow… In case we may need him.”

BEEP

Rain looks down at his watch which shows many lights indicating something.

“Can you give me a moment Lieutenant?” asks Rain as he rises and goes into another room, out of hearing distance.

“Uh… Yeah,” Fade barely replies before Rain is gone.

“Is this right?” Rain asks his computer system which his watch is connected to.

“YES… FOUR VIPOR BIKES HAVE BEEN DETECTED HEADED TOWARDS ARE FACILITY”

Rain pauses, then steps back into his library…

“Sorry about that… Hey, there’s something I want to show you, do you have time?” asks Rain as he clicks and opens a secret exit from the library into a lowly blue lit tunnel.

“Uh…” Fade stands, “…sure.”

The two of them go through the tunnel, and up a ramp leading to a KN7000 black vessel parked outside.

“Wow… Is that?” starts Fade.

“Yes… The KN7000… Only 6 in existence, would you like to see it more closely?” Rain asks as he clicks his watch, and the two doors swing upward and open.

The both sit inside it, the interior is mind boggling.

“Wow,” is all Fade can manage.”

“Yes…” Rain suddenly starts the engine.

VROOMMMM

He drops the doors, “Lets go for a spin, shall we?”

“I would love to, but I really need to finish my questioning about this Rune guy…” Fade implores as Rain is about to step on the gas…
“I am Rune…” he speaks…

VROOOOMMMMM

…and they fly off the ramp, and land softly on the ground, tearing down the road.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE (V.O.)

What is it Nayoko…

…your father.

TITLE – NEW TOKYO, JAPAN – YEAR 2032

TITLE – NEW TOKYO POLICE DEPARTMENT’S SECRET QUESTIONING FACILITY

TITLE – THE RED LIGHT ROOM

INT. NEW TOKYO POLICE DEPARTMENT’S SECRET QUESTIONING FACILITY – THE RED LIGHT ROOM – NIGHT

The room is lit by one red light.

NAYOKO, an attractive Asian Girl in her twenties, is curled in a corner of the room.

BLACK SCREEN

NAYOKO (V.O.)

Yes…

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE (V.O.)

              Is he dead?

NAYOKO (V.O.)

Yes… To me… He is dead…

EXT. OVERHEAD SHOT OF NEW TOKYO – NIGHT

TITLE – White Jade

TITLE – One Hour Earlier

INT. NEW TOKYO POLICE DEPARTMENT’S SECRET QUESTIONING FACILITY – HALLWAY – NIGHT

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE, a six-foot plus, fairly rugged looking Caucasian, in his mid to late thirties, walks with the head of the facility.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Okay… What do we got…

 

FACILITY HEAD

We’ve got a young Asian Girl, by the

name of Nayoko…

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Nayoko what…

FACILITY HEAD

She won’t give us her last name, and

her prints aren’t on file…

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Okay…

FACILITY HEAD

She turned herself in about an hour

ago…

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Yeah…

FACILITY HEAD

She claims to be responsible for the

Asano Eight Building’s destruction

earlier today…

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

What… One girl?!

FACILITY HEAD

No, she had some hired help…

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Okay…

FACILITY HEAD

She says she was trying to rescue

her father from Asano, who

she claims had kidnapped him…

TITLE – The Red Light Room

TITLE – The Present

INT. THE RED LIGHT ROOM – (THE PRESENT)

Nayoko sits legs crossed, head down, in a corner of the room.

Detective Ben Wayne sits about thirty feet away in one of two chairs that are at a table.

NAYOKO

Let me start from the beginning…

INT. YAMAGATA’S HIDEOUT – DAY (EARLIER THAT DAY)

A dark corridor lit only by thin beams of blue light.

TITLE – Earlier that day

TITLE – Yamagata’s Hideout – A New Tokyo Mafioso High Arch

Nayoko enters the corridor, wearing a hooded cloak.

AKI, a man in white and silver samurai armor, appears from around a corner to block her way.

Nayoko continues, as if to walk right through him.

Aki draws forth two swords from his back.

SWOOM!!

                             AKI

Going somewhere?

He swings the blades down upon her, but she avoids the blow, and so they strike the ground instead.

CHHIINNGGG!!!

She disarms him, knocking the swords to the ground.

KLANKKK!!

She knocks him down, and his armor makes a loud…

CLANNG!!

…as he hits the ground.

AKI

Ummmpphhh!!

She picks up both of his swords, and stands above him.

AKI

Aahhh!!

She thrusts both of the blades into his armor, just below his armpits, securing him to the floor.

CHINNGG!!

She knocks him unconscious, and continues into the darkness of the corridor beyond.

INT. THE RED LIGHT ROOM – NIGHT (THE PRESENT)

                             DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

So this Yamagata had your father…

(She doesn’t respond)

Nayoko, I can’t help you, unless you

give me more to work with…

She makes no sound.

He steps forward as if to touch her.

NAYOKO

No!!

She stands, and holds one arm outward indicating not to approach.

Upon her neck are two bloodied cut lines.

One on each side of her neck.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

You’re hurt…

He starts to approach her once again.

NAYOKO

No!!

She holds her right arm out, palm towards him, indicating once again not to approach.

Upon her palm, written in Japanese, is the word Hira.

He steps back.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Hira…

She looks at him curiously, her head tilting just slightly, tears streaming down her cheeks.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

The name on your hand…

Nayoko quickly pulls her hand back against her chest, bows her head, and begins to fall backwards, as if losing her balance.

Ben starts forward to aid her, and then stops himself.

She regains her stance.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

What is… Hira

INT. YAMAGATA’S HIDEOUT – OUTSIDE YAMAGATA’S MAIN CHAMBER – DAY (EARLIER THAT DAY)

Nayoko continues down the dark hallway, until she reaches a set of double metal doors.

She holds up a miniature audio-playing device.

Yamagata’s voice comes out of the device.

VOICE DEVICE

Open…

     The doors open, and she continues her same stride.

INT. YAMAGATA’S MAIN CHAMBER

Inside there is a well-dressed older Asian man, YAMAGATA, smoking a cigarette.

                         YAMAGATA

Do I know you…

Nayoko walks straight up to him and grabs him by the throat.

YAMAGATA

Eekkk!

NAYOKO

Where is my father?

YAMAGATA

Your Father…

Than I do know you…

She knees him in the privates.

YAMAGATA

Oohh!!

She throws him up, and over his private bar, which sits   right behind him.

CRAASSSHH!!!

Nayoko pulls out some form of sonic gun, and blows the bar to pieces in a single shot.

FWAMMM!!

Just then Aki enters the room, raising his arm to block his face from pieces of shrapnel from the explosion.

Meanwhile, Yamagata sits curled up against the wall trying to breathe.

Suddenly, Yamagata reaches for two guns at his sides, and begins to let loose a firestorm at Nayoko.

BLAM!! BLAM!! BLAM!!

Nayoko avoids the shots, and hurls a nearby blunt object at Yamagata’s head, knocking him unconscious.

YAMAGATA

Aahhh!!!

Aki draws his swords, and moves forward to engage Nayoko.

Nayoko disarms Aki, and holds her gun against his forehead.

NAYOKO

Choose life…

Aki, stands perfectly still, and begins to break into a sweat.

He then looks over at Yamagata whose lies motionless.

Unconscious.

Aki drops his swords, and runs out of the room.

INT. YAMAGATA’S HIDEOUT – THE HALLWAY OUTSIDE YAMAGATA’S CHAMBERS

Nayoko drags Yamagata down the hallway, his head bumping about.

INT. RED LIGHT ROOM – NIGHT (THE PRESENT)

Ben spins his chair around backwards, and moves closer to Nayoko.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

What happened Nayoko?

Where’s your father?

Nayoko looks over at a cloak that is folded up on top of the table, for the room has become a bit cold.

Ben follows her gaze and sees that she’s noted the cloak.

He walks over to the table, picks up the cloak, and tosses it to her as if feeding a lion.

Nayoko’s eyes sparkle just a bit, still dark as ever.

She nods in thanks.

Ben sits back down.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Where’s your father Nayoko?

INT. YAMAGATA’S HIDEOUT – DAY (EARLIER THAT DAY)

Nayoko drags Yamagata onto her flight-ship.

Yamagata starts to wake as his head is being bumped repeatedly against the ship ramp.

INT. NAYOKO’S SHIP

Nayoko throws Yamagata into an open metal crate, which automatically closes and locks.

YAMAGATA’S (O.S.)

You can not do this!!! Do you know

who I am!!!”

Nayoko sits in the pilot seat, and ignites the thruster engines.

EXT. NAYOKO’S SHIP – DAY

Nayoko’s ship lifts off into the sky above.

VRRRRROOOONNNN!!

INT. NAYOKO’S SHIP

YAMAGATA (O.S.)

You will never find your father

without me!!!

Never!!

Nayoko pushes a blue lit button, and the crate begins to shrink in size.

YAMAGATA (O.S.)

Aahhhhh!!!!

The crate is now half its original size.

YAMAGATA (O.S.)

Nnnoooo!!!!!

EXT. NAYOKO’S SHIP

Nayoko’s ship flys through the air.

INT. – NAYOKO’S SHIP

YAMAGATA (O.S.)

Okay, okay!!!

But how do I know you won’t kill me

if I tell you??

NAYOKO

I value life… I can’t help that…

Now tell me where he is…

YAMAGATA (O.S.)

Asano has him… He’s holding him

hostage on the forty second floor

of the third Asano Eight Building…

NAYOKO

Thank you…

Nayoko pushes a red button and the crate drops through the floor and out of the ship.

EXT. NAYOKO’S SHIP – OVER THE OCEAN

The crate falls thousands of feet…

YAMAGATA (O.S.)

Nnnooo!!!!

…until it hits, and sinks, deep into the ocean below.

INT. THE RED LIGHT IN – NIGHT (THE PRESENT)

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

So you killed him anyway…

Nayoko nods in agreement, her head bowed.

NAYOKO

He’s killed thousands of people

in his reign of madness…

(She looks up at Ben)

NAYOKO

Like I told him… I value life…

She bows her head once more.

NAYOKO

He will end no more lives…

He’s in a box…

Under the ocean…

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

I see.

And your father…

Nayoko suddenly stares blankly outward.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Nayoko… What is it?

NAYOKO

I must go…

She stands, lets the cloak fall to the floor, and walks towards the door.

Ben stands.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Nayoko you can’t leave…

Hell, you turned yourself in!

Nayoko stops in front of the door, and bows her head.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Did you destroy Asano’s building’s

Nayoko?!

Some how I’m starting to think you

did…

Nayoko turns towards him.

NAYOKO

Please let me go Detective Wayne…

I can not stay here… It’s not safe

for anyone…

Tears fall down her cheek.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

I’m afraid that’s not good enough

Nayoko… So far all you’ve told me

is that your father is dead to you…

(He picks up her cloak)

And how you threw some guy into a

crate and dropped him into the

ocean…

(He throws it over her shoulders)

I’m afraid that at this point it’s

not looking too good for you…

(Ben sits her back down)

Now I suggest you just sit back down,

and finish telling me what happened…

EXT. NAYOKO’S SHIP – APPROACHING THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S – (EARLIER THAT DAY)

Eight identical building’s that stand in a circle in the middle of New Tokyo’s down town business district.

TITLE: The Asano Eight Building’s

They are the tallest building’s in the city.

Or at least they were.

INT. NAYOKO’S SHIP

Nayoko goes to autopilot, and enters a small one-person escape pod.

INT. THE ESCAPE POD

It has a viewing window.

EXT. NAYOKO’S MAIN SHIP

The escape pod ejects from the main ship, several miles from the Asano Eight Building’s.

THE ESCAPE POD

As it falls to the earth, small rockets emerge, and bring it safely to the ground.

FWUUMMM!!!

It strikes the earth with a…

THUUMMPP!!

THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S – CENTER COURTYARD

A large fountain rests in the middle of the center courtyard.

Nayoko’s main ship crashes right into the courtyard fountain.

FWWWAAAAHHHHHH!!! BOOOMM!!!

A PARK – NEAR THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S

The escape pod rests in the ground.

INT. THE ESCAPE POD

Nayoko wears eye censors that allow her to see what her main ship’s viewing screen can see.

EXT. THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S – CENTER COURTYARD

A legion of armed security guards enters from the many Asano building’s, and begins to approach Nayoko’s crashed ship.

INT. THE ESCAPE POD

NAYOKO

Activate laser cannons…

EXT. THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S – CENTER COURTYARD

Laser canons suddenly appear atop Nayoko’s main ship.

INT. THE ESCAPE POD

NAYOKO

Fire!!!

EXT. THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S – CENTER COURTYARD

The laser cannons lay down a rapid fire upon the security guards.

Some are taken out, and some take cover.

INT. THE ESCAPE POD

NAYOKO

Set for defense five…

Nayoko out…

Nayoko takes off her eye censors, puts on a weighted backpack, and opens up the top of the pod.

EXT. A PARK – NEAR THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S

The lid fly’s off the pod, landing on the surrounding surface with a…

TTHHUUDDD!!

She bounds out of the pod, landing smoothly upon the earth.

She bows her head, and takes the talisman on her necklace into her hand.

NAYOKO

Father… Forgive me…

THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S

INT. THIRD BUILDING – 42^ND FLOOR

Many well-dressed Asian businessmen, including MR. ASANO (New Tokyo Mob Boss), MR. WAKAI (2^nd in command), and MR. DOI (An Ali to Asano), watch in horror from above.

1. WAKAI

What is the meaning of this…

EXT. THE ASANO EIGHT BUILDING’S – CENTER COURTYARD

Some fifty or so security guards approach Nayoko’s main ship, which has halted fire.

As soon as the guards are within twenty to thirty feet of the ship, it explodes.

VVVOOOOOMMMM!!!! CCCLLLAAANNNGGGG!!!!!

A majority of the security guards are killed.

INT. THIRD BUILDING – 42^nd FLOOR

1. ASANO

Maybe it has to do with him…

Asano points at HIRA, Nayoko’s father, who’s attired in soft black clothing, and sits tied up to a chair in the back of the room. His eyes are shut, and head is bowed.

1. DOI

Don’t be a fool Asano… No one, save

Yamagata, knows he’s here…

1. ASANO

Perhaps…

(Mr. Asano’s Secretary enters)

1. WAKAI

How dare you enter unannounced!!

SECRETARY

My humble pardon Mr. Asano Sir…

(She bows her head)

You have an urgent visitor…

Aki enters, sweating and shaken.

INT. THE RED LIGHT ROOM – NIGHT (THE PRESENT)

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

So you killed all of those innocent

security guards…

This really isn’t sounding good for

you Nayoko…

Nayoko sits as though in a trance.

Ben kneels down in front of her.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Nayoko…

NAYOKO

They’re coming for me…

INT. NEW TOKYO’S HIDDEN QUESTIONING FACILITY – MAIN ENTRANCE

Some dozen masked men in black, Asano’s men, enter the facility shooting poisonous blow darts at any police

officer’s they see.

INT. THE RED LIGHT ROOM

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

Who?

Suddenly lasers circle the door handle to the room.

Sparks shoot everywhere.

DETECTIVE BEN WAYNE

What the…

NAYOKO

Sorry Detective…

Nayoko strikes the back of Ben’s shoulder and neck, knocking him unconscious.

She then takes a crouching position, out of direct line from the door.

Suddenly the door handle falls to the floor, and the door swings open.

Four Priests in white robes fly into the room in full-extended kicks, and roll into defensive positions.

Nayoko stands upright.

MASTER OBUCHI, High Priest of the White Jade Order, steps through the door.

                             NAYOKO

Master Obuchi…

We haven’t much time Little Hira…

Nayoko tears out the door, and the priests follow.
